The Indus Valley Civilization was an ancient civilization located in what is Pakistan and northwest India today, on the fertile flood plain of the Indus River and its vicinity. Evidence of religious practices in this area date back approximately to BCE. Farming settlements began around BCE and around BCE there appeared the first signs of urbanization. Sindh - the southernmost province of Pakistan - has a distinctive character of its own, setting it apart from other areas of the Islamic world. Nowhere else has Sufism gained such a stronghold. Shrines of Sufi saints are scattered all over the country, and still countless pilgrims flock to them.
Punjab is also the province of Pakistan and also renowned in the world. Its name is itself shows its meaning that is Punj (means five) and Aab (means water/river), punjab is the province in which five rivers flow namely River Sindh, River Ravi, River Sutlej, River Jehlum, and River land is considered to be the land of five rivers.. Punjabi culture is the culture of punjabi people. Sindh is the most downstream province on the Indus river. In local languages the Indus is called “Sindh” – the province identifies itself with the river. While eastern Sindh is a desert, western and southern Sindh feature irrigated farmland with chronic problems of water-logging and salinity.
